Boise Community
Radio Project
Program Proposal
Form

Hi! Thank you
for submitting a programming proposal to the Boise Community Radio
Project (BCRP). We look forward to reviewing your proposal and getting
the music you love on the air. But first, a little bit about us.
BCRP will provide
a voice to the voiceless. The primary goal of BCRP is to provide a
diverse radio programming to un-served and marginalized communities
in the Treasure Valley. Our station will highlight content that receives
little attention on current radio broadcasts and avoids duplication
of existing programming options. We expect that musical programming
will make up roughly 75% of our weekly schedule.
BCRP will also
serve as a community-wide bulletin board for issues-oriented information
and a performance platform for the creative skills of local musicians,
verbal artists and youth. Our content will inspire creativity in the
process of addressing community issues and enhance social, cultural
and environmental awareness. By increasing opportunities for members
of the community to access our local media, we will foster cultural
health and enhance the area's quality of place.
Now we'd like
to hear about your show. Don't be intimidated by the following questions-they're
meant to give us a solid idea of what you want your show to be. Answer
as short or as long as you think is appropriate.
|
What is your
program's focus statement? (In other words, define
your program.)
|
What is your
program's format? (Music, call-in, talk, news
segments/feeds, etc.)
|
Describe your
content. (This includes type of music, subjects
for discussion, areas of news, etc.)
|
OK, now we'll
get more focused. Please answer the following questions in as much
detail as you wish. Offer specifics. Be enthusiastic. It's ok to get
excited about this. After all, you might be a DJ!
|
Who is your
intended audience? How will your show benefit that audience?
|
How will your
show benefit the larger Boise community?
|
How is the
content of your program different from what is already available on
the radio in the Treasure Valley?
|
Please offer
20 examples of the artists you'd enjoy playing the most on the program.
|
To what extent
will your audience or other members of the community be able to participate
in and influence the program? (This can be through
call-ins, scheduled guests from the community, other avenues for listener
feedback, etc.)
|
Can we count on you?
a) Can you commit to producing a weekly 1 to 3 hour
show for 6 months? (Producing a 3 hour show every week will require
more than 3 hours of work per week. What other projects like this
have you done before? Do you volunteer for any other organizations?
In other words, convince us that you will be able to fulfill this
commitment.)
b) Do you have
or can you access enough material for a weekly show for 6 months?
Explain.
c) How will you
keep your show consistent, yet make it different and new every week
for 6 months?
|
What resources
might you already have for producing your program? (Computer,
mixing equipment, CD Library, etc.?)
|
How did you
develop a passion for your proposed content? How do you plan to convey
this passion to your audience?
